As part of its regulatory mission, the NRC establishes uniform operator licensing examination standards from which licensees generally develop and administer operator licensing written examinations. The written examination is a key measure that allows the NRC to make a confident decision regarding the safety-significant performance of individuals seeking a license. Release of the most recent examination questions would undermine the integrity of this process and adversely affecting those facility licensees who are planning to use questions from these examinations as a screening tool before the March 7, 2018 GFE. As reflected in NUREG-1021, the NRC delays publishing the questions used in an examination for one year after the examination is administered.
