PALISADES NUCLEAR POWER PLANT Inservice Inspection of PCP-PSOC The Inservice Inspection of PCP-PSOC was conducted during the period of December 16, 1983 through May 4, 1984. Inspections were conducted in accordance with the Palisades Plant Technical Specification, Section 4.3. The ASME Specification is as follows: Section XI 1977 Edition Summer 1978 Addenda for Components, 1977 Edition Winter 1978 Addenda for Components Supports. The NDT examinations were performed using magnetic particle (MP), manual ultrasonic (UT), and visual (VT), and liquid penetrant (PT) techniques. Indications were recorded in compliance with applicable procedures; reportable indications which were judged by the examination agencies to be relevant wen:! documented and transmitted to CPCo, Nuclear Plant Support personnel for evaluation. NPS evaluated all reportabie indications and dispositioncd these by "accepting as is". The examination agency which was utilized in on-site NDT-ISI activities was CPCo System Protection and Laboratory Services (SP&LS). Inspection personnel were qualified in accordance with the requirements set forth by IWA-2300, Section XI of ASME B&PV code. All records of procedures, personnel and equipment certifications, examination data and dispositions of all reportable indications are on file at the Palisades Nuclear Plant and also in the General Office, 1945 W Parnall Rd, Jackson, Michigan.   • All indicati~ns noted are in.the diffuser vanes, far removed from the pressure boundary surface of the casing and therefore do not challenge the integrity of *the pressure boundary.

The increasing section thickness of the vanes greatly reduces the likelihood of these indications propagating to the pressure retaining surface. For further information on this refer to DR#D-PAL-83-398. MI0684-0001A-NS03

The NDT exDninations were performed using magnetic particle (MP), manual ultrasonic (UT), and visual (VT), and liquid penetrant (PT) techniques. Indications were recorded. in compliance with applicable procedures; reportable indications which were judged by the examination agencies to be relevant were documented and transmitted to CPCo. Nuclear Plant Support personnel for evaluation. NPS evaluated all reportable indications and dispositioncd thes~ by "accepting as is". The examination agency which was utilized in on-site NDT-ISI activities was CPCo System Protection and Laboratory Services (SP&LS). Inspection personnel were qualified in accordance with the requirements set forth by IWA-2300, Section XI of ASME B&PV code. All records of procedures, personnel and equipment certifications, examination data and dispositions 6£ all reportable indications are on file at the Palisades Nuclear Plant and also in the General Office, 1945 W Parnall.Rd, Jackson, Michigan.
