Docket No.:
50-255 LSQ5-f 4-©8-041 Mr. David J. VandeWalle Nuclear Licensing Administrator Consumers Power Company 1945 West Parnall Road Jackson, Michigan 49201
Dear Mr. VandeWalle:
August 23, 1984 ~
SUBJECT:
INSERVICE INSPECTION PROGRAM Re:
Palisades Plant By letter dated November 12, 1980 as supplemented November 16, 1982, you submitted (1) an inservice inspection program updating the examination requirements from those contained in the 1974 Edition through the Summer 1975 Addenda of Section XI of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code to the requirements contained in the 1977 Edition through Summer 1978 Addenda, and (2) requests for relief where you have determined that the examination requirements are impractical to perform.
The NRC staff has completed the review of your submittals. The enclosed Safety Evaluation (Enclosure 1) delineates those items for which relief has been granted and alternate schedules and procedures defined.
The staff has determined that where stated the Code requirements are impractical, the granting of this relief is authorized by law and will not endanger life or property or the common defense and security, and is otherwise in the public interest considering the burden that would result if they were imposed on your facility.
A Notice of Environmental Assessment and Finding of No Significant Impact was published for this action in the Federal Register on (49 FR
