consumers Power co~pany General Offices: 1945 West Parnall Road, Jackson, Ml 49201 * (517) 788-0550 June 7, 1984 Dennis M Crutchfield, Chief Operating Reactor Branch No 5 Nuclear Reactor Regulation US Nuclear Regulatory Commission Washington, DC 20555 DOCKET 50-255 - LICENSE DPR PALISADES PLANT - MAIN STEAM LINE BREAK WITH CONTINUED FEEDWATER ADDITION NRC letter dated April 11, 1984 requested that Consumers Power Company provide a schedule for submittal of proposed technical specification changes and details of these changes for the following modifications:
- a.
Modify the circuitry of the MFW stop valves and MFW bypass valves to close on low steam generator pressure trip signal; and
- b.
Install additional control valves in series with the bypass valves which will also close on low steam generator pressure signal.
Our plans are to make the modification during the 1985 Palisades Refueling Outage and to submit technical specification changes 30 days prior to the start of the 1985 Refueling Outage.
The 1985 Palisades Refueling Outage is presently scheduled for October 1985.
