FEB 2 3 1882 In response to your letter of December *4, 1981, delineating your proposals regarding possible modifications to portions of the March 9, 1981, Confirmatory Order, and partially as a result of the management meetings of December 3, 1981, and February 17, 1982 in which this subject matter was discussed, Region III has concluded that the proposed modifications meet the intent of the Order and are therefore acceptable.
Further, the frequent observa-tions and audits of your performance in these areas, conducted by our on-site inspectors, establish, with minor exceptions, that this daily audit function has been performed in an acceptable and professional manner.
Specifically, your request to modify Section A-1 of the March 9, 1981, Confirmatory Order to include the use of "experienced Senior Engineers" as well as Staff Engineers to perform the daily audit of plant operations is granted.
Also, your request to eliminate weekends and holidays from this audit schedule is granted with the understanding that this audit function will be provided if technical specification surveillance or significant maintenance or modification work is scheduled on week ends or holidays.
