February 12, 1982 This is in response to your letters dated January 4, 1982, and February 5, 1982, from Mr. Brian Johnson of your staff regarding a temporary Emergency Operations Facility (EDF) for the Palisades facility.

We have reviewed your response and find the temporary EOF concept to be adequate for interim use.

We will observe the activation and operation of the temporary EOF during the February 23, 1982, exercise.

Please ensure your emergency plan and procedures are revised to reflect this change*.

Any future correspondance relevant to conceptual designs for a permanent EOF or TSC should be directed to Mr. Brian Grimes, Director, Division of Emergency Preparedness, NRC, Washington, D. C. 20555.
