REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

__, _________ c_ _______ CONS_UMERS_POWER _COMPANY_

PALISADES PLANT DOCKET NO. 50-255

1. Supply the ratings of your class lE motor contactors (coil voltage limits).
  • supply the upper and lower limits for continuous operation, lower limits for pick-up and drop-out voltages.

Note:

we understand that both 440V arid 460V rated motors are used.

2.

What are the stall and starting rating (transient condition) of your class lE motors and loads (battery charges, etc.)?

3.

What were the bus loads during the test of the accuracy of your analysis?

(In percent of maximum bus load).

What were the instrument accuracies?

4.

Describe the present tap setting of transformers 11 and 12.

The February 29, 1980 annual report states these were changed.

noes your analysis include this tap change? If not new analyses are required.

5.

Did your analysis account for the tie between class lE 4ROV buses 11 and 12?

Supply either the analysis of a tech spec restriction* on_ the use of the bus.

6.

Supply the analysis for 120V instrument AC and 120V preferred AC including back-up *sources.

7.

Supply typical ard maximum cable feeder drop for each equipment voltage (2300V, 460V, 440V and l20V) or supply the terminal voltage for previous and new analyses.

8.

For those voltages presented in per cent or per unit, include the base voltage.

9.

What is the duration of the voltage dip caused by the simultaneous start of all safety injection-loads? If.it is longer than the 612 second time delay of the second level undervoltage relays, e~aluate the need for a new time delay and supply, or justify why it is not changed.

10.

Tech spec basis 3.7 allows ~he generator disconnect links to be removed to allow the station power transformer t~ serve as a reserve source.

Your reserve transformer is also available to power bus le, ld and le but only has the capacity to power buses le and ld.

Per the August 8, 1979 NRC letter, guideline 1, supply the required analysis for these possible sources uf offsite power.

Supply a tech spec restriction on the use of the reserve transforiner to power bus lE.

11.

Supply the GDC 17 review requested in the August 8, 1979 NRC letter. List any descrepencies and describe what Consumers Power Co. (r.Pr.o) will do to correct them.

12.

Describe the loads on the following buses (see your July 18, l980 letter Station Power Diagram).

480V buses 77, 78, 79, 80, 81, 82, 13, 14, 16; 801, 802,.807 and 808.

Does the use of the shown bus ties affect yoi..ranalysis? If so supply the data or a techrical specification restriction.
