SUMMARY

OF SHUTDOWN EXPERIENCE FOR AUGUST 1979 With exception noted below, the unit operated at a nominal 98% of rated thermal power for the first 3 weeks of the month, then at a nominal 80% for the last week due to the end-of-life conditions of this core cycle.

The unit was manually tripped from approximately 88% of rated power after the trip of both feedwater pumps during the turbine valve testing.

The unit was manually tripped from approximately 91% of rated power due to a loss of feedwater flow while cutting in the condensate demineralizers.
