ENCLOSURE 6

TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT (BFN)

TS-391T UNITS 2 AND 3 COMMITMENT

SUMMARY

These compensatory measures will be included as activity restrictions in the plant outage schedule for the EDGs and will be applied for any EDG outage time past the current EDG 7-day LCO.

Require that another off-site power source be available to the affected unit in addition to TS requirement that two off-site sources be available.

Requiring a third off-site source further reduces the likelihood that EDGs would be needed.

3.

Restrict any work activities that would affect the ability to cross-tie the opposite unit EDG to the 4-kV shutdown board for the EDG in the outage (i.e.,

EDG A cross-tie capability to 4-kV Shutdown Board 3EA).

This would ensure that an on-site power source would be readily available for manual alignment to the affected shutdown board if needed.

Restrict work activities on the 500-kV switchyard cross-tie breakers supporting the affected unit.

This will ensure the required 500-kV off-site sources have access to both 500-kV buses, reducing the likelihood that a 500-kV source would be lost to the affected unit.

4.

No high risk switchyard maintenance will be scheduled during the outage time period when the EDG is unavailable.

High risk emergent work, if any, will be required to be approved by the Plant Manager and Operations Manager.
