AND 68 LICENSEE EVENT REPORT (LER) 50 260/95001 REVISION 1 This letter submits TVA's supplemental response to LER 50-260/95001 dated February 22, 1995.

LER 50-260/95001 provided details regarding BFN's Unit 2 Emergency Diesel Generator (EDG) turbocharger failure.

The EDG turbocharger failure resulted in noncompliance with a Technical Specification (TS) Limiting Condition for Operation.

TVA reported this event in accordance with 10 CFR 50.73 (a)(2)(i)(B) as any operation or condition prohibited by the plant's TS.

TVA stated that a failure analysis of the turbocharger would be performed and a supplemental report provided.

TVA has completed the failure analysis and decided the most probable cause of the turbocharger failure was tooth bending fatigue on the planetary sun gear.

The enclosure contains the supplemental response.

The revision bar in the right-hand margin identifies the revised text.

Sincerely, R.

D.
