AND 3 COMPONENT AND 'PIECE PARTS QUALIFICATION PROGRAM (TAC NOS.
M83827 AND M83828)
By letter dated June 12, 1992, the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) provided its proposed program for qualification of components and piece parts at the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (BFN) Units 1 and 3.
This program was the subject of a meeting between TVA and the NRC staff on September 15, 1992.
The staff requested additional information on October 29, 1992, which TVA provided on February 16, 1993.
On November 8, 1993, the staff issued Inspection Procedure
- 38703, "Commercial Grade Dedication."
The staff has determined that TVA's proposed component and piece parts qualification program falls within the scope of this inspection procedure.
Therefore, the staff will not provide a safety evaluation of the
- program, but will inspect the BFN program in accordance with this procedure.
