LReyes, Reg. II BFN Rdg. File Our ongoing evaluations of existing and future licensing actions may identify the need for additional information from TVA; we will promptly contact you as these circumstances arise.

Also, if TVA should discover other technical or regulatory issues that would necessitate NRC involvement (e.g., additional Technical Specification changes),

we would expect to be notified as soon as possible.

In either case, both NRC and TVA will have to continue=to cooperate very closely in order that unanticipated licensing actions can be accommodated with minimal impact upon the restart schedule for BFN Unit 2.

If you have any comments or questions regarding the contents of the enclosure, please contact me within the next two weeks.

Dear Nr. Kingsley:

n

SUBJECT:

TARGET DATES OF OUTSTANDING SUBNITTALS DUE FRON TVA TO SUPPORT THE LICENSING ACTIONS RE(UIRED FOR RESTART OF BROWNS FERRY, UNIT 2 t

The NRC staff has developed, in concert with Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant'(BFN)

Licensing personnel, a list of submittals due from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) that are deemed necessary to support resolution of the remaining licensing actions required for restart of BFN Unit 2.

Furthermore, as a result of direct negotiations between TVA and the staff, appropriate target dates were established for each of these outstanding submittals based upon your restart schedule and our available resources and regulatory constraints.

Any slippage beyond these assigned dates on your part could adversely affect our efforts to accomplish required technical reviews and/or inspections of BFN Unit 2 activities, and as a consequence impact negatively on our ability to support your schedule for restart.

The contents of the enclosed list of submittals due from TVA, and their associated target dates, have been discussed on several previous occasions with BFN Licensing personnel and are generally reflected in your "BFN Project Plan - Restart Commitments and Programs".
