By letter dated August 28, 1986 you transmitted the NPP.
We have completed our preliminary review of the NPP and have sent requests for additional information dated October 3 and 21, 1986.
With the enclosed request for additional information we have completed our preliminary review.
Our review schedule will depend upon a timely response to these requests.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.

The root cause of many problems at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (BFN) was attributed to lack of clear lines of authority.
The Site Director of BFN must interface with many of the corporate level directors.
Please clarify how this will be accomplished.
The Nuclear Performance Plan shows that a number of managerial positions are being filled by contract individuals.
Provide a description of the actions that will be taken at BFN if such individuals were to terminate or be reassigned.

Clarify the functions and reporting relationship of the BFN health physics organization in relation to the Radiological Assessor since it is not clear in the Nuclear Performance Plan.

The Engineering Assurance (EA) Organization is responsible for administration and management of the gA program as applied to TVA nuclear engineering and design activities.
EA personnel assigned to BFN report to the Site quality Manager on matters related to the BFN gA program.
Administrative direction regarding BFN EA 'activities and functions is provided to EA by the BFN Project Engineer.
Describe the procedures that will be used to ensure that there is no ambiguity in reporting relationships.
Does the Manager of Engineering Assurance report to both the Director of Nuclear equality Assurance and the Director of Engineering?
Explain how this dual reporting role will be handled.
5.
Clarify the functions and reporting relationships of the Unit Maintenance groups and the maintenance department under the Maintenance Superintendent.
For which functions will the different maintenance groups interface and how will they interface?
