Daniel R. Muller, Director BWR Project Directorate 82 Division of BWR Licensing STAFF REVIEW OF VOLUME III OF TVA'S NUCLEAR PERFORMANCE PLAN FOR BROWNS FERRY By letter dated August 28,
- 1986, TVA submitted Volume III of the Nuclear Performance Plan discussing actions taken or proposed to correct problems in the management and operation of the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant.
The submittal also responds to information requested by the EDO's letter of September 17, 1985.
A copy of the submittal has been forwarded to you.
The attachment of this memorandum lists you as the lead reviewer responsible for preparing a safety evaluation on certain sections of Volume III.
In some cases, input will be needed from other offices or organizations within NRC; it is the lead reviewer's responsibility to obtain and integrate any necessary input from other offices into your evaluation.
Preliminary assessments regarding the adequacy of the submittal are requested by September 10,
- 1986, inasmuch as meetings are schedules with TVA for September 15-17,
- 1986, on licensing and startup issues.
Specific schedules for preparation of your safety evaluations will be developed in conjunction with each of you in the next several weeks.
As a target, we are working towards having draft SERs by October 31,
- 1986, and final SERs near the end of 1986.
