JUL 3J. gg On May 14 and 15, 1986, we met with members of your staff at Browns Ferry to discuss seismic design issues.
The meeting was beneficial to us in developing a better understanding of the seismic reevaluation programs you have underway
- and, we hope it was beneficial to your staff in resolution of some issues.
Our summary of the meeting is enclosed for your information.
As discussed
- therein, and outlined in the enclosed request for additional information, we requested that you provide a comprehensive background history of the seismic design for Browns Ferry, a description of the programs you have in progress or proposed as part of your seismic reevaluation of the facilities, your reevaluation criteria, proposed changes to the design bases from that described in the FSAR and your proposed approach to reso'Iving any identified seismic issues.
Please respond to the enclosed request within 30 days of the date of this letter or provide a schedule for your response.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements contained in this letter aftect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.
