Dear. Mr. Grier:
This serves to inform the Commission of a condition deemed reportable under the provisions of 10CFR 50.55(e).
The condition was previously reported to the Commission under the provisions of 10 CFR Part 21 via General Electric Company letter MFN-243<<79, dated September 28, 1979.
Bechtel Corporation and PPGL have evaluated the safety impact of the deficient items and have confirmed the need for reporting the condition under 10 CFR 50.55(e) as well as 10 CFR Part 21.
To this end, a final report, identified as a supplement to Bechtel MCAR-1-33, is herewith submitted.
As noted in the report, the subject insert has been repaired/reworked and inspected by Bechtel QC at the SSES construction site.
The repairs were conducted in accordance with approved procedures and instructions from General Electric Company and subjected to the administrative and quality verification controls of the Bechtel QA Program.
