CYCLE 5 OUTAGE MODIFICATIONS Re:
Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant, Unit 2 OEC 0 6 1985 In your letter dated August 28, 1985 you submitted Technical Specification's amendments associated with the Unit 2 Cycle 5 outage.
Included among the proposed amendments are changes to the calibration interval for certain instrumentation which is being modified to include analog trip.units.
The proposed amendments would extend the test intervals to "once/operating cycle". It is our position that the calibi ation intervals for -analog transmitters and trip units, be limited to 18 months'550 days).
This position is based on the fact that, due to the possibility.,of extended mid-cycle shutdowns, a channel calibration interval of once per operat'ing cycle. is less conservative than once every 18-months.
We therefore request that you revise your amendment requests accordingly.
