Dear Mr. Youngblood:

We furnish below the additional information requested during a recent telecon between Mr. R. Kirkwood of NRC and Mr. V.S., Nagara) of PP&L with regard to procurement, fabrication and delivery dates of the diesel generator exhaust piping material for Susquehanna:

1.

Purchase order for procurement of shop fabricated piping including diesel generator exhaust piping was placed during

December, 1973.

2.

The diesel generator piping is constructed in accordance with the 1971 edition of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel

Code,Section III, for Class 3 piping up to and including the Winter 1972 addenda.

Field fabrication and installation of this piping will comply with thiss code with the exception of post-weld heat treatment which will comply with sub-article ND-4600 of the Summer 1976 addenda of the 1974 edition of the code as applicable.,

Piping spool pieces, for diesel exhaust piping were fabri-cated and'elivered at S'usquehanna-site prior to March 1977.

Some additional spool pieces were delivered at site during year 1980, but these were-constructed in accordance with ASME Code specified in Item 2 above.

At the time of writing of the referenced letter, we were aware that the Revision 1 of Code Case 1481-1 had expired on 3/1/79.

Since the purchase order and fabrication code dates fall within the expiration date of Code Case 1481-1, we believe that this code case was applicable for Susquehanna.
