Dear Mr. Schwencer:

As stated in PLA-833, Pennsylvania Power and Light Company is working with the LRG to develop a SRV surveillance program. In addition, pertinent information will be recorded at Susquehanna SES and made available as input to such a group program. The Susquehanna SES records will include the following types of information:

1. Initial valve records
2. Scheduled Maintenance Records
3. Unscheduled Maintenance Records The program will be structured to collect sufficient data to allow identification of potentially generic safety - relief valve problems ranging from excessive wear observed during normal inspection to complete failures of the valve.

Very truly yours, Vice President-Engineering and Construction-Nuclear cc: R. M. Stark - NRC (52 k Il PENNSYLVANIA POWER 8 LIGHT COMPANY
