NRC Review of PPSL Management..

On November 14, 1980, members of the NRC staff met with Pennsylvania Power alld Light Company management at the Susquehanna site.. The purpose of, the meeting was to discuss the licensing schedule.

During that meeting you~"

stated that PPEL had reorganized and that the details of,.the new organization would be sent as an amendment to. the FSAR in. late J(ovember or. early December 198b.

The NRC is currently in the process of pre(aring an SER on, the Susquehanna application.

At this time, the.,staff intehds to'rovide a,status.

repor t in the area of organization and adequacy of, corporate and plant staffing.

A, final safety evaluation can only be prepared on the basis of the formal IE/HRR inspection of these arias iihich can be made folio>>ing implementation of your organizational changes and. preparation of procedures, addressing the functioning of the new organization, particularly in relatioa to the inter-faces between plant and corporate staff.

We would like to schedule the formal NRC corporate..and plant visit on January 27, 28, 29, 1981, to. permit timely SER preparation.for inclusion in a post ACRS supplement.
