Subject:

To Discuss the Planned TVA Organizational Changes.

Subject Discussed:

Licensee representatives discuss'ed the preliminary TVA organizational changes

-hat would consolidate under one office activities related to nuclear power.

The changes would also relocate site specific resources from central offices to the nuclear sites in order to enhance the support effort.

Those support efforts/organizations that are common to all sites will remain centrally located so as to ensure a strong and capable corporate organiza-tion.

The licensee had not completely defined all aspects of the reorgani-zation, specifically, the functions of the quality assurance organization and public safety.

NRC made the observation that special consideration should be given to the portions of these funtions which involves nuclear activi-ties.

The NRC also suggested that consideration be given by TVA to consider adding dedicated individuals to the new office to handle day-to-day public affairs and legal services that relate to nuclear matters.

The licensee was requested to submit information defining the significant milestones for this reorganization.

The licensee stated that they felt such information could be developed in approximately two weeks.

The licensee stated that NRC would be kept updated on their progress by telecon and future meetings of this -type.
