50-260 In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR Parts 50.59 and 50.90 we are enclosing 40 copies of a requested amendment to license DPR;52 to change the technical specifications of Br owns Ferry Nuclear Plant unit 2 (Enclosure 1).

These changes are needed to accommodate unit 2 reload 0

cycle 5 operation and outage-related modifications.

Detailed description of the changes and Justification are also enclosed (Enclosure 2).

Me request approval of these changes by January 12, 1983 in order to avoid impacting planned unit 2 refueling and star tup.

In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR Part 170.22, we have determined this proposed amendment to be Class III for unit 2.

This olassification is based on the fact that the proposed amendment involves a single safety issue which does not involve a significant hazard consideration for unit 2.

The remittance for ftI,000 is being wired to the NRC, Attention:

Licensing Fee Management Branch.
