and 20-23,

DPR-55 and

DPR-68 for the Browns Ferry facility.

Our preliminary findings were discussed

with H. L. Abercrombie at the conclusion

of the inspection;

Areas

examined

during this inspection

included the fire protection/prevention

program.

Within these

areas,

the inspection consisted

of selective

examinations

of procedures

and representative

records,

interviews with personnel,

and obser-

vations by the inspector.

During the inspection, it was

found that certain activities under your license

appear to violate

NRC requirements

and that certain activities appear to deviate

from commitments

and to applicable- codes,

approved

by the

Commission

and have

safety significance.

These

items are addressed

in enforcement

correspondence

to

you

from Victor Stello, Jr., Director, Office of Inspection

and

Enforcement,.

dated March 20, 1981.

Three

new unresolved

items, are identified in

the-. enclosed

inspection

report.

These items will be. examined during subsequent

inspections.

In accordance

with Section

2.790 of the

NRC "Rules of Practice,"

Part 2, Title

10,

Code of Federal

Regulations,

a copy of this letter and the enclosed

inspec-

tion report will be, placed

in the

NRC Public

Document

Room.

If this repoJt
