Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant and Carolina Power

& Light Co.

Emergency Plan I would like to add my voice to the growing group of people in North Carolina who are alarmed and concerned about the danger inherent in the existence of nuclear power plants and specifically the Shearon Harris power plant soon to be completed by Carolina Power

& Light Company in North Carolina.

I urge your Commission to delay licensing of this plant until such time as emergency evacuation plans for this area can be fully worked out and fully tested.

There are legitimate concerns about the safety in the way this particular plant has been constructed and about the ability of CP&L to run it in a safe manner that must not be ignored.

Until such time as state and local governments'articipation in an emergency plan for the Shearon Harris plant in the event of an accident, can d f 11y 1

test, as required by federal regulation, 10 CFR Part 50, within one year prior to the granting of any full power license should be considered or approved.
