Dear Dr. Denton,
I am writing to request that you delay in any way possible the opening of the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant near Apex, N.C.
We do not live near Apex, in fact we live 80 miles away, but we have many friends and family members who live only a few miles from the plant.
We are concerned about their safety, For years we have vacationed near CPGL's nuclear reactor at. Brunswick in North Carolina, so we have followed the constant safety problems, cover-ups, and slick answers offered by this company.
,I do not have confidence in their ability to operate any other plant safeiy.
Now I understand that they want to limit their evacuation plan to cover 2 miles.
That is ridiculous; in fact, if there wasn't so much at stake, it would be a big joke.
Please use your position to demand accountability from these utility executives lest our loved ones are endangered by their greed and indifference.
