QUARTERLY DATA REPORT SHNPP SEISMIC MONITORING PROGRAM JANUARY 1 1983 MARCH 31 1983 Carolina Power
& Light Company (CP&L) has completed another quarter of operation of its seismic monitoring program at the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant site near New Hill, North Carolina.
During this period a total of 63 cultural events were recorded with an S-P of less than 5 seconds.
No local earthquakes were detected.
Of these 63 events, 50 were confirmed as being explosions by responsible companies or agencies.
The remaining 13 events displayed the signature and arrival pattern typical of previously identified cultural events and none occurred at night or on a weekend or holiday.
