Dear Hr. Curtis:

I

SUBJECT:

RE(VEST FOR INFORFQTIOH COHCERHIHG CONFIfUNTORY PIPING ANALYSIS FOR SUSQUEHANNA UNITS 1 At/0 2 tie recently instituted a program of performing an independent confirmatory "as-built" piping analysis for each plant undergoing an operating license review.

On December 12, 1979, we met with members of your staff at the Susquehanna site to discuss this program and to allow our contract personnel, Pacific Northwest Labs (PHL'), an opportunity to tour Units 1

8 2 to view various piping systems.

For Susquehanna, this analysis will be performed by PHL.

The purpose of this independent analysis will be to ver ify that the sub5ect piping system meets the applicable ASNE Code stress criteria.

He do not intend to resolve differences between our calculated stresses and yours unless unusually large discrepancies are found, or unless Code criteria are not met.

This program will allow us to verify on a sampling basis that you have correctly modeled your piping, have corr'ectly used your computer codes, and have adequately accounted for the piping's as-built condition.

In order to proceed with, our analysis, we will require certain information to be supplied by yoy:

Therefore, for the 101-6 SRV "N" Discharge Line shown on Bechtel drawing No. 41-1CiBC-101-6, Rev. 9, we request that you transmit the following informIation to PHL:
