Friday, March 09, 2018 12:00 AM Hello Christian and Tom, By letter dated December 12, 2017 (ADAMS Accession No. ML17289A075), the NRC issued a safety evaluation to Exelon Generation Company, LLC. (Exelon) for the use of an alternative to certain requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Code Case N-789-1, Alternative Requirements for Pad Reinforcement of Class 2 and 3 Moderate-Energy Carbon Steel Piping for Raw Water Service,Section XI, Division 1, at the James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant.
During Exelons review of the safety evaluation (SE), it identified a clarification in Section 2.0, Regulatory Evaluation, and Exelon notified the NRC on January 2, 2018 (ADAMS Accession No. ML18005A925).
The NRC staff reviewed Section 2.0 of the SE, identified a minor error, and revised the SE. This revision does not change the conclusions associated with the SE. The corrected SE is available publicly (ADAMS Accession No. ML18003B382).
