Dear Mr. Denton:
I appreciate your serious attention to problems at the Shearon Harris Plant near Raleigh.
I urge you to continue in your efforts to insure the safety of resi-dents of this area by requiring CP&L to abide by all federal regulations.
I understand that you have been notified of the serious safety violations and construction defects at Shearon Harris; please ensure that these are fully investigated and corrected before the plant is allowed to operate.
Please require CP&L to complete successful testing of the plant before granting it a license.
I also urge you to require CP&L to comply with federal regulations for a full-scale evacuation drill before it begins operation.
