50-400 50-401 50-402 50-403 REVISIONS TO STAFF'S PROPOSED FINDINGS OF FACT Pursuant to the Board Order of May 25, 1979, the NRC Staff submits the following revisions to its proposed findings to reflect those changes in Applicant's management organi zation reflected in a letter from.theApplicant of May 18,
- 1979, and an affidavit of J. A..Jones dated June 7, 1979.
The Staff does not object to the admission o'f that affidavit as Applicant's Exhibit PP.
It is noted that the Staff has limited its proposed findings based on the supplemental material in this affidavit to the "hard facts" in the affidavit and has excluded statements of intent and policy.
The Staff's revisions to its proposed findings are:

At the hearing commencing on February 27, 1979, it was established that Carolina Power
& Light Company (CP&L) has divided its corporate organization into two main areas, administration and operations.
J. A. Jones was Executive Vice President and, Chief Operating Officer for CP8L.
(Jones following, Tr. 3494, pp. 9-11, 26-29).
Reporting to Mr. Jones were three Senior Vice Presidents (M. A. McDuffie, Engineering 8 Construction Group; E.
E. Utley, Power Supply Group; and tl. J. Ridout, Customer 8
Operating Services Group) and a Depar (W.
W. Morgan, Systems Planning 8 Coor Department).

Subsequent to the hearings, CPSL supplemented that testimony, with consent of the parties, to report changes in the CP8L's management organization which were approved by its Board of Directors on May 16, 1979.

Mr. Jones'itle changed to that of Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
Reporting to him are Executive Vice President, E.
E. Utley (responsible for the Power Supply and Customer Services Groups),
the Senior Vice President--Engineering and Construction
- Group, M. A. McDuffie, and a Vice-President for Nuclear Safety and Research.
Reporting to Mr. Utley are two Senior Vice Presidents (D. V. Menscer, Power Supply Group; and W. J. Ridout, Customer 8 Operating Services Group).
(Applicant Exhibit PP at 2, Fig. B). Effective September 1, 1979, the new Nuclear Safety and Research Department will be headed by D'r. Thomas S. Elleman, who presently is Chairman of the Department of Nuclear Engineering at North Carolina State University, as a
Vice President of CPSL.
He will be responsible for the functions of Corporate Health Physics and Corporate Nuclear Safety and guality Assurance, in addition to research functions within the Company.
The director of Corporate Health Physics and the manager of Corporate Nuclear Safety and guality Assurance Audit will also continue to have direct access to Mr. Jones.
