REVIEW OF DIFFERING PROFESSIONAL OPINION DOCUMENTS PRIOR TO PUBLIC RELEASE
Dear Mr. Harper:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff requests that the Westinghouse Electric Corporation (WEC) identify proprietary information in documents associated with a differing professional opinion (DPO) regarding aspects of the AP1000 design certification. Documents describing the DPO and the staffs analysis of the issues raised are being reviewed to determine what information needs to be redacted before the documents are publicly released.
Enclosed is the second set of documents being provided to WEC to identify proprietary information pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 2.390, Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding. This set completes the group of documents being reviewed for release.
To assist our planning efforts, NRC requests that WEC provide a proposed schedule for completing the proprietary review of this initial document set. Following WECs review, NRC will redact the documents to remove proprietary information and other sensitive information in accordance with NRCs procedures.
