Cool, Chief, Radiation Protection and Health Effects Branch, Division of Regulatory Applications, Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research TURKEY POINT REACTOR UNIT 3 SPENT FUEL We are currently in the process of revising Regulatory Guide 3.54, "Spent Fuel Heat Generation in an Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation" with the help of ORNL.
This revision process includes comparison of spent fuel heat rate measurements with those predicted by ORIGEN-S/SAS2 codes.
Fuel from Turkey Point reactor was used in spent fuel calorimetric measurements supporting earlier efforts in this area.
Concerning the Turkey Point fuel, the attachments show the information that we have and what our contractor is requesting.
Chuck Ni lsen of my staff has discussed this request with Gordon Edison of your staff, who suggested that the information might be obtainable from the utility. guestion concerning this, should be directed to Chuck on ext. 2-3834.
