TAC Numbers 61717 and 61718 By letter dated August 29, 1986, you submitted the Reactor Vessel Material Surveillance Program for Turkey Point Unit 3, Analysis of Capsule V, as required by 10 CFR 50, Appendix H, Section III.
The results documented in the report are applicable to both Units 3 and 4 based on the NRC staff's approval of an integrated surveillance program as documented in our Safety Evaluation transmitted'to you by letter dated April 23, 1985.
We have completed our preliminary review of the Capsule V Report.
In order to complete our review, we require the additional information requested in the enclosure.
We request your response within 90 days from receipt of this letter.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements of this letter affect fewer than 10 respondents; therefore OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.

An experimental error analysis should be performed to support vessel fluence uncertainly values.

There is nn,iusti<ication for the reiection of the dosimeter measurements and the exclusive use of dosimeters from the charpy bars.

A computational error analysis should be performed to evaluate the relative value of the computed to the measured fluence.
4.
Justify the use of the P
approximation.
5.
Explain the counting in dosimeters which are not chemically pure.
