SUMMARY
- SRO LICENSE ELIGIBILITYCRITERIA This refers to the meeting held with members of your staff in Region II on April 26,
- 1984, at your request to discuss eligibility criteria for certain Turkey Point candidates to take the NRC Senior Reactor Operator license examina-tion.
The, names of attendees are listed in the enclosure.
The eligibi,lity requi rements specified by NUREG 1021, Examiner Standard ES-109, for SRO candidates with 4-year degrees in engineering and applied science were discussed.
Specifically, the types of degrees that meet this requirement, the kind of experience considered to be "responsible nuclear power plant experience,"
and the types of training creditable toward "related technical training" were discussed.
It is our opinion that this meeting was beneficial and has provided for a better mutual understanding of the matters discussed.
Your cooperation with us is appreciated.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of NRC's "Rules of Practice,"
Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
