CONFIRMATION OF ACTION TURKEY POINT 3 AND 4 DOCKET NOS.
50-250 AND 50-251 This refers to my telephone conversation of February 16, 1984 with Mr. J.
W. Williams, Vice President Nuclear
- Energy, regarding the Turkey Point Units 3 and 4 electrical system design
- changes, that occurred between October 1982 and January
- 1984, and subsequent challenges to the reactor protection systems.
Based on the referenced conversation, it is our understanding that your Turkey Point Units 3 and 4 will not be returned to power operations without the concur-rence of this office.
Our concurrence will be based on your evaluation of the installed electrical system and the results of your technical discussions with this office concerning the correction of identified design, and procedural defi-ciencies that relate to nuclear safety.
Please inform us immediately if your understanding of these items is different from that stated above.
