The followina applications were filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regu-lation (ONRR) for review in connection with the Turkey Point Plant Units Nos.

3 and 4.

Fees pursuant to 10 CFR 170.22 were not remitted with these requests.

1.

A ttarch 19, 1981 application requesting exemptions from certain requirements of 50.48 and Appendix R of 10 CFR Part 50.

2.

A December 16, 1983 application requesting relief from certain inservice inspection requirements of Technical Specification 4.2.1 and 10 CFR 50.55.a(g).

3.

A December 28, 1983 application requesting certain changes to the Technical Specifications regarding Engineered Safety Features Actuation.

Based on information provided by the ONRR staff, it has been determined that:

A Class III fee ($4.000) and a Class I {$400) are appropriate for the review of those portions of your application referred to in Item 1

above relating to exemption from Sections III.G.2, III.G.3 and III.J of Appendix R that were denied by 'letter dated November 9, 1981.

This review involved consideration of a single safety issJe and a duplicate unit.

For those portions of your application which were approved pursuant to 10 CFR 50.12.

we have concluded that an exemption, pursuant to 10 CFR 170.11(b),

from the fee requirements is authorized by law and such exemption is otherwise in the public interest and is hereby granted for them.

The ONRR staff notified your Company of their action on these requests by letters dated November 9, 1981 and Nay 10, 1982.

is a copy of a letter we sent to the Virginia Electric and Power Company dated December 5, 1983, on Surry Unit Nos.

1 and 2.

Similar letters have been sent to other licensees who have received reviews relating to alternate safe shutdown.

A Class RU~ fee ($4,000) and a Class I fee ($400) are appropriate for Item 2 since the review will involve consideration of a single safety issue and a duplicate unit.

3.'

Class II fee ($1,200) and a C'lass I fee ($400) are appropriate for Item 3 since the changes will be administrative in nature and will in-volve a duplicate unit.

Therefore, you are requested to remit the sum of $10,400 to our office. If the ONRR staff's final reviews of Items 2 and 3 reveal that these fees are not appropriate, you will be notified and any necessary adjustments will be made.
