REQVIREhlENTS FOR ANALOG POSITION INSTRUMENTS IN 'SHUTDOWN hfODES TURKEY POINT UNITS-3 AND 4 The analog rod position indication system for Westinghouse PHRs has been reviewed by the staff.

We have evaluated the bases for the system accuracy requirements during ho0 shutdown, cold shutdown or refueling.

The enclosed Safety Evaluation describes the results of our efforts on this subject..

We have determined that the rod position indication accuracy requirements may be.relaxed during hot shutdown, cold shutdown or refueling.

We have worked with Westinghouse to develop a Technical Specification which reflects our conclusions.

The enclosed Technical Specification is appropriate for any Westinghouse PWR which has the analog rod position indication system.

The enclosed Safety EvM.uation and Technical Specifications are being provided for your information.

You may wish to amend the Technical Specifications for Turkey Point, Units 3 and 4, based on the conclusions of the Safety Evaluation.
