SUBJECT:
CONFIRMATION OF CONCURRENCE - DOCKET NOS. 50-250, 50-251 This refers to our Confirmation of Action Letter (CAL) dated March 30,
- 1989, which detailed the commitments you made to the NRC at a meeting held in the NRC Office in Atlanta, Georgia on March 29, 1989.
The purpose of that meeting was to discuss your corrective actions for the deficiencies identified during operator requalification examinations administered by Region II personnel.
We have reviewed the implementation of the actions you committed to take prior to restart of the Turkey Point units.
Specifically, we have reviewed the composition of your operating
- crews, and evaluated the crew training and simulator assessment that you provided to assure qualifications of reactor operators at the Turkey Point Nuclear plant.
Based on the above and as we discussed in our telephone conversation on May 4,
- 1989, we concur in the restart of the Turkey Point units.
Sincerely, 89052TOi85 890504 ADOCK 05000250 PNU Stewart D. Ebneter Regional Administrator cc:
