SUBJECT:

CCW CONTINUOUS TUBE CLEANING SYSTEM PERFORMANCE TESTING In your letter (L-88-127) dated May 9,

1988, you requested an extension for the issuance of the revised engineering evaluation for the operation of the component cooling water (CCW) heat exchangers.

The extension will allow the satisfactory completion of a four-month performance test of the continuous tube cleaning system for Unit 3 and for Unit 4 if installation is completed to allow testing.

You are granted the requested extension, which will require an engineering evaluation to be issued by the end of December 1988.
