SUMMARY
- TURKEY POINT NUCLEAR PLANT - DOCKET NOS.
50-250 AND 50-251 This letter refers to the meetings conducted in the Regional Office between J.
Kappes of your staff and members of Division of Reactor Projec't Section 1C, on May 12, 13, 27, 28 and June 24, 1987.
These meetings involved a working level discussion on Turkey Points Performance Enhancement Program (PEP).
It is our opinion that these meetings were beneficial, and provided a better understanding of the history of the PEP process and the status of completion of the various projects.
Add>tionally, we are of the understanding that you will conduct an indepth audit/assessment of each PEP project to determine that the commitments/requirements of the PEP are or have been satisfactorily completed and that the project fulfilled the objectives of improving overall plant performance in that project area.
Upon NRC review of the audit/assessment the region will close out all completed projects by one of the following methods:
(1)
,Accept the audit results and close project item (2)
Have the Resident and/or Project Inspector inspect and close project item (3)
Have a specialized team inspection to close project item The enclosed is a
PEP project summary schedule and major outstanding PEP items list.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's Rules of Practice, "Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations,"
