SUBJECT:
SALEM ATWS EVENT - GENERIC LETTER 83-28, ITEM 1.2, POST TRIP REVIEW:
DATA AND INFORMATION CAPABILITY - DRAFT TECHNICAL EVALUATION REPORT (TER).
By letter dated November 8, 1983 you provided your response to GL 83-28, Item 1.2 "Post Trip Review:
Data and Information Capability" for Turkey Point Plant Units 3 and 4.
The staff, with the assistance of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), is reviewing your submittal to determine if the data and information capabilities for post trip reviews at Turkey Point are acceptable.
We have enclosed a draft TER prepared by SAIC.
Section 2 of the draft TER provides the review criteria which divides your response into five separate categories.
We have determined that your submittal is acceptable for two of the categories.
However, insufficient information has been provided to determine the adequacy of the remaining categories.
We request that you assess the draft TER and arrange a conference call through the Project Manager Mr. Daniel McDonald, (301) 492-7363, to discuss the open items and the additional information needed for our review.
Section ll of the draft TER provides supporting information for the conference call.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements of this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.
Sincerely,
/s/SAVarga
