SUMMARY
OF NOVEMBER 30, 2017, PRE-SUBMITTAL MEETING WITH THE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS TASK FORCE RE: DRAFT TSTF-569, REVISE RESPONSE TIME TESTING DEFINITION On November 30, 2017, a Category 2 public meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and representatives of the Technical Specifications Task Force (TSTF). The notice and agenda are available in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) at Accession No. ML17324B305. A list of attendees is enclosed.
The proposed change would allow licensees to apply approved topical report methodology to verify response time for new components in lieu of measurement. The staff asked several questions about what limitations would be established on the use of the approved methodology for new components.
The TSTF intends to submit traveler TSTF-569 as part of the Consolidated Line Item Improvement Process (CLIIP). The traveler is scheduled to be submitted in the first quarter of calendar year 2018.
A draft of traveler TSTF-569 was provided prior to the meeting and is available in ADAMS at Accession No. ML17317A449. The meeting presentation is enclosed.
There were no final determinations made during the meeting. No members of the public had comments.
