Environmental gualfffcatfon of Electrical Equipment This letter transmits an Order which requires information to support the environmental qualification of safety related electrical equipment at Turkey Point, Unft thos-3 and 4-The Corrmfssfon's t1emorandum and Order of Hay 23, 1980 addresses safety related electrical equipment exposed to a harsh environment, inside or outside containment, resulting frorrr an accident.
The Order requires that, all such equipment fh operating reactors be fully qualified by June 30, 1982.
To complete this obgectfve, you are required to submit, by November 1,
1980, all information to.support.

I The Coamission's Memorandum and Order of May 23', 1980 addresses safety related electrical equipment exposed to a harsh environment, inside or outside containment, resulting, from an accident.
The Order requires that all such equipment in operating reactors be fully qu'alified by June 30, 1982.
To complete this objective, you are required,to submit, by, November 1,
1980, all information to. support a safety evaluation of the aforemen-tioned equipment.
If your facility had an established commitment date before November 1,
1980, it is ful.ly expected that your submittal will be not later than that commitment date. If your facility's commitment date is past without a complete submittal, it is strongly recommended that.actions be expedited since they have.alrea+
impacted the staff review schedule.
Briefings were held with all interested licensees during the week of July 17, 1980.
Enforcement.actions relative to this Order were dis-cussed during these briefings.
