Russo TELEPHONE: 616-465-5901 DATE: November 6, 1995 PAGE: Page 1 of 3 The unit entered this reporting period in Mode 6 at 0 ~ RTP for the Cycle 14 to 15 maintenance/refueling outage. Core alterations halted at the end of last period due to a damaged fuel assembly, resumed this period. The Reactor was taken critical October 23, 1995 at 0742 for the first time in fuel cycle 15.

The Reactor was manually tripped October 24, 1995 at 0349 to perform a balance of Reactor Coolant Pump 512. Criticality was achieved October 24, 1995 at 1557 and entry into Mode 1 occurred October 25, 1995 at 0115. The Turbine Generator was paralleled to the grid October 25, 1995 at 1014 where power escalation to 29% RTP began.

Reactor power was decreased. October 26, 1995 at 0010 to perform Main Turbine Overspeed Testing. Power ascension to 29. RTP commenced October 27, 1995 at 0623 following grid parallel.

Unit shutdown was commenced due to increased concentrations of sodium in each Steam Generator on October 28, 1995 at 0030. Leak source identification remained under investigation for the balance of this period. Power descent continued to Mode 5 to perform scheduled forced outage maintenance.

The unit exited this reporting period in Mode 5 at 0. RTP.

There were no challenges to the pressurizer safety valves or power operated relief valves.

Gross electrical generation for the month of October was 6680 MWH.
