Dear Dr. Murley:
This letter is submitted pursuant to discussions with your staff
.held on October 1, 1993, regarding motor operated valves (MOVs) at the Donald C.
Cook Nuclear Plant.
Specifically, your staff requested that we identify the 4-KV safety bus voltage that corresponds to the minimum voltage on the 600 V bus necessary to ensure pickup of the MOV contactors.
This request for information is associated with Unresolved Item 50-315/93006-01(DRS) and 50-316/93006-01(DRS),
from our Generic Letter 89-10 Phase 2
inspection which was conducted in March of this year.
The minimum pickup voltage for the MOVs is 80%
(575 V base).
The corresponding voltage on the 4 KV safety busses is 86% (4 kv base).
