ENCLOSURE RE VEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INDIANA MICHIGAN POWER COMPANY COOK UNIT I I.

The following questions refer to CEN-313-P Revision 4-P.

I)

Section 4.0 discusses coordinated phosphate chemistry for secondary side water. which is no longer used.

Provide a discussion of the basis for use of Alloy 690 in current AVT secondary water chemistry and in primary water side service.

2)

Section 4.3 discusses the use of a post weld heat treatment (PWHT) for the sleeve upper weld.

It is stated that the PWHT is,used at the option of the utility.

We are concerned that the heat effect of the sleeve weld may reduce the corrosion resistance of the underlying tube.

Please provide test information justifying the omission of a PWHT, if PWHT is not used.

Include justification of the time and temperature cycle to be used.

Describe any residual stress measurements that have been performed.

3)

Please provide the most current data from the pure water stress corrosion cracking tests described under Section 6.2.3.

4)

It is stated in Section 9.3 that sleeves that do not pass the ultrasonic and visual inspections for leak tightness, may be accepted by the licensee as "potentially leak-limiting." If this is the licensee's policy, please provide a basis for their use in Cook Unit 1.

5)

Describe your program to maintain awareness of the state of the art in the nondestructive testing of steam generator tubes and your commitment to the utilization of improved inspection methods as they become commercially available.
