Thank you for your letter dated June 21,
- 1989, in response to our May 17, 1989 letter concerning allegations pertaining to the alleged loss of security related keys at the D.
C.
Cook Nuclear Plant (Allegation RIII-89-A-0058).
In our letter, we requested that you describe any incidents where females have lost keys and how they are handled,
- reviewed, reported and disposed of and submit the results of your investigation to the NRC.
Your response indicated that extensive hours were spent reviewing several past years of security incident reports, vital and protected area key control
- records, and interviews with security personnel, including the individual named in the allegation.
No new information was found regarding any lost security keys.
This allegation was not substantiated.
We found your investigation to be sufficient to support your conclusions and have no additional questions regarding this matter.
We request that you retain the supporting documentation for your investigation of this allegation for a minimum of one year from the date of this letter.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
