Cook Nuclear Plant NPDES Permit No. MI 0005827 Prefilter Backwash Limitations A sample taken on October 31, 1988 of the prefilter backwash discharge (Outfall OOF) indicated a
suspended solids (TSS) concentration of 138'g/1.
The average TSS for the month of October was 59 mg/1.
The operating log showed that the prefilter backwash unit was operating normally at that time.
Rough lake conditions appear to have suspended lake bottom sediments in the plant's intake water.
