Dear Mr. Dolan:
By letter dated November 27, 1985, the Indiana and.Michigan Electric Company (IMEC) requested NRC approval of a new schedule for completion of Appendix R
Items III.G.2 and III.G.3 modifications for the D. C.
Cook Nuclear Plant, Unit Nos. I and 2.
Your new schedule for completion of these items is based on the new refueling outage date for Unit 2 which is now scheduled to begin no later than February 28, 1986.
In our letter dated April 18,
- 1984, we approved your original schedule from the IMEC March 8, 1984 letter.
That schedule was based on the 1985 refueling outage for Unit 2.
Due to the unplanned outages in July and August 1985, the Unit 2 1985 re-fueling outage is understood to occur beginning in March 1986.
Therefore, the basis for the IMEC original schedule upon which we provided approval remains unchanged as does our approval.
The Appendix R modifications are to be made during the upcoming Unit 2 refueling outage with the lighting modifications to be completed two months following restart.
