SUBJECT:

INADVERTENT SAFETY INJECTION DURING COOLDOMN The Division of Operating Reactors has completed a generic bounding review on this subject and concludes that no further licensing action is necessary at this time since it is likely that a facility could withstand more than fifty inadvertent ECCS actuations.

>!e have concluded, however, that it would be prudent, should a facility experience more than twenty-five such injections, for you to consider a plant specific analysis for that facility which would identify more precisely the additional number of actuations that can be safely accomodated at that facility.

A copy of our Safety Evaluation Report is enclosed.
